It’s nearly impossible to be a fan of the Mitsubishi brand and not harbor at least some measure of positive feelings toward the now-retired Mitsubishi Eclipse. That particular model may have been the single coolest model the automaker ever has produced, as evidenced by plenty of cameos in some of the early “Fast and Furious” films, which remain the measuring stick for automotive trendiness. Happily, the experts at Jeremy Franklin Mitsubishi are excited to reveal some exciting news about the brand to our readers!
The Mitsubishi Eclipse may be gone, but the automaker is reviving the name in a brand new Mitsubishi SUV that will go by the name Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. It doesn’t share any features with the old sporty two-door, but it is something of a spiritual successor, as the Mitsubishi brand explained when they first debuted the automobile earlier this year:
“Eclipse is a word used to describe an astronomical event,” Mitsubishi Motors Corporation wrote in a press release. “Marrying stylish coupe lines with the freedom of movement the SUV genre gives, the beautiful, dynamic form of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross serves to bring about the same sense of excitement and inspiration as the diamond ring seen immediately before and after the total solar eclipse does.”
That’s a lovely poetic homage to a vehicle that the company hopes will resonate well with customers as the brand shifts more toward the production of SUVs. As your Kansas City Mitsubishi dealer, we love what a slick, sporty SUV like this means for the future of our building, and we’re sure that customers in Lee’s Summit, MO are just as excited.
While Jeremy Franklin Mitsubishi won’t have the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in stock for a bit, we eagerly anticipate its arrival and truly cannot wait to see what Mitsubishi engineers come up with next. The future certainly looks bright with sleek models like this on the horizon.
